i just got a note from heather at Brooklyn Gneral, saying that there is indeed STILL ROOM on the bus to rhinebeck next weekend! if i weren’t already up here i’d be on that bus for sure, so all of you city folks should jump at the chance to see the spectacular fall foliage, pet furry animals and buy lots and lots of fiber and YARN!!! and now here’s what heather has to say:

Hello All,
Some of you may have heard that I am organizing a bus trip to Rhinebeck, NY for the NYS Sheep and Wool Festival next weekend. This amazing event it is a two-day extravaganza with vendors from all over the country. Can you say knitter’s paradise? You can check out http://sheepandwool.com for all the highlights. Here are the details for my bus:
The bus will depart from John Jay HS (7th Ave btwn 4/5th Sts in Park Slope, Brooklyn) at 8 am on Saturday, October 17, 2009. It is about 4 blocks walk from the 7th Ave stop on the F/G trains and it generally takes about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes to travel from mid-town. We should arrive in Rhinebeck for Sheep and Wool at about 10 am. The bus will leave the fairgrounds at 5pm so that we should be back at John Jay at about 7pm. Bus service is being provided by US Coachways, a nationally woman-owned company. All drivers are licensed/insured and restrooms will be available on-board.
The cost of the trip is $70 per person and includes round-trip transportation, a ticket into the fair and a gift bag filled with goodies including handspun and hand-dyed yarns, roving, patterns and coupons. There will also be opportunities to win special prizes and to participate in invitation-only events after Rhinebeck. I am offering a discount of $10 off for parties of three or more. If you would like to reserve a spot, let me know how many people are in your party and I will happily send you a paypal request for payment.
I hope that some of you will join us for the festivities and please tell all of your friends. If you have any questions you can email me at hellomello@tiac.net or call me at Brooklyn General Store anytime at 718.237.7753. Hope to see you on the 17th!
Heather Love
