cooking classes @ SOY!

one of the things i miss most about the Lower East Side is the adorable restaurant SOY. it is owned and operated by the lovely Etsko, who originally sold her handmade purses out of the shop, and opened the same day i opened my shop around the corner. within a year or two she decided to open a restaurant instead: japanese home cooking based around the many uses of soy (though it's not all vegetarian). i took the 'cooking for clueless' class a couple of years ago and found it very enlightening; check out all of her classes below or just stop in for a scrumptious meal!

it's the BIG ONE!

hi friends!

please join me this sunday at the 2008 BUST Holiday Craftacular! i will be there with my trusty assistant gertie, selling one-of-a-kind handmade clothes, crochet hats, recycled dog sweaters, and we'll see what else! the vendor list (including many dearest SAPLINGs like 31 Corn Lane, Treehouse, Raeburn Ink, Nancy Kraskin, Erika Since 1977) is amazing; you can cross everyone off your list here, while shopping local and supporting independent makers. see below for more details, like Amy Sedaris (she bought one of my dresses last year!) and goodie bags for the first 500 peeps!

oh, and please do spread the word to at least one other who might want to come! this is grassroots marketing; that's why it's green ;n)
